What is Your Club’s Risk Level?

Monday, February 23, 2025

7:00 – 8:00 PM

D4, Risk Management Chair, Nancy Peacock

Join Nancy to learn about your Zonta club’s risk Level

Clubs and their members collaborate closely to achieve Zonta’s mission. While these joint efforts are crucial, a club’s overall success may also hinge on factors that are not immediately apparent or may be easily overlooked—those “behind the curtain.” Recognizing and understanding these underlying aspects is essential, as they can introduce both risks and opportunities for the club. By proactively addressing these factors, clubs are better positioned to reinforce internal controls, strengthen governance structures, and enhance their capacity to fulfill their mission effectively.

The district has established a comprehensive assessment process designed to identify areas of risk, vulnerabilities, and opportunities within clubs. This process involves systematic review conducted by the Club Board or its members, offering a structured opportunity to uncover potential challenges, possible threats, and promising opportunities. Through this review, clubs can not only identify areas for improvement but also plan and implement targeted actions, as well as replicate or share practices that have proven effective.

This assessment system is set to be implemented by each club and will be officially introduced during the D4 Talks event on February 23. Club Presidents, Treasurers, Board Members, and Risk Managers are encouraged to register and attend this event, where they will have the opportunity to explore the new process in detail along with target dates. By participating, club leaders can learn firsthand how this assessment framework can serve as a valuable addition to their club’s toolkit, supporting stronger governance and mission fulfillment.
